A business unit of BAE Systems has secured a potential $183.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy to execute fiscal 2018 modernization work on a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday BAE’s Norfolk Ship Repair business will help the service branch maintain, update and repair USS Tortuga systems as part of the Chief of Naval Operations maintenance availability effort.
The Naval Sea Systems Command received two bids for the firm-fixed-price contract via a full and open competition on the FedBizOpps website.
