BAE Gets $178M Army Contract Modification for Nitrocellulose Facility Construction

BAE Systems has secured a potential two-year, $177.8 million contract modification to build and commission a new nitrocellulose production facility at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Virginia.

BAE™s ordnance systems business will perform work in Radford, Virginia, through Dec. 31, 2018, the Defense Department said Thursday.

The Army Contracting Command will obligate $171.8 million from the service branch™s œother funds for fiscal 2015 through 2017 at the time of award.

The BAE-operated Radford Army Ammunition Plant produces solvent and solventless propellants designed to support DoD™s direct and indirect fire operations and rocket missions.
