The U.S. Army has awarded a five-year, $103 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to Elbit Systems‘ (Nasdaq: ESLT) U.S. subsidiary for the production of mortar weapon systems.
Elbit Systems of America has also received an initial purchase order from the military service, the company said Wednesday.
Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America, said the company will work to deliver mortar weapon systems that will support precision and flexibility, as well as help address present and potential threats.
The subsidiary has signed a memorandum of understanding and subcontracted the Army’s Watervliet Arsenal to supply various mortar components.
