Brad Mason
Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has promoted Brad Mason – director of maintenance, modernization and technical service operations at HII’s AMSEC subsidiary — to the roles of AMSEC president and a vice president position in HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding segment.
He will report directly to Newport News President Matt Mulherin and oversee AMSEC’s daily operations, HII said Wednesday.
Mason will succeed Harris Leonard, who will retire at the end of 2016, and assume his leadership duties at AMSEC after a transition period that ends Nov. 14.
“Brad brings to this position years of experience with AMSEC in addition to 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy, ” Mulherin said.
Mason, who joined AMSEC in 1998, has a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and master’s degree from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School.
