Leidos‘ (NYSE: LDOS) Abacus Innovations Australia subsidiary has secured an estimated $418.7 contract from Australia’s defense department to provide computer equipment and accessories as well as centralized processing services to the country’s chief information officer group, ARN reported Friday.
Leon Spencer writes the award runs through 2023 and follows an approximately $610 million deal that Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) former information systems and global solutions business secured from Australia’s defense department to provide centralized processing services up to 2022.
Abacus is a spinoff company that resulted from the August merger of Leidos and Lockheed’s IS&GS business.
Spencer writes Australian Defense CIO Peter Lawrence has said centralized processing would consolidate information technology infrastructure and applications to support the department’s data center service delivery.
The program with Abacus is part of the Australian defense department’s larger effort to update its IT functions, the report said.
