Danny Pummill, former undersecretary for benefits at the Department of Veterans Affairs, has joined Chantilly, Virginia-based government services contractor Femme Comp Inc. as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
FCI said Monday Pummill will report to FCI President and CEO John Bronson and oversee the company’s daily operations, performance management, goal alignment and strategic planning functions under his new roles.
Bronson became chief executive over the summer after a partnership comprising him, Arlington Capital Partners co-founder Robert Knibb and FCI co-founder B. Hagen Saville purchased the contractor.
As the VA’s benefits undersecretary, Pummill led more than 21, 000 employees in the delivery of non-medical benefits and services to veterans and their beneficiaries.
Pummill also worked at the VA’s Veterans Benefits Administration as principal deputy undersecretary and director of the VBA program office.
The three-decade U.S. Army veteran is also a former deputy director for compensation and pension for the VA and deputy assistant secretary for health and medical oversight at the service branch.
FCI offers engineering, information technology, financial and management services to the federal government.
