Lockheed Postpones Initial Delivery of Air Force GPS III Satellites to December

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 16, 2016 ” Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has found an issue with a component of the U.S. Air Force‘s GPS III satellites and has postponed the first satellite delivery by four months in an effort to address the matter, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

Space News reported Wednesday that the company has contacted the program’s navigation payload provider – Harris Corp.‘s (NYSE: HRS) Exelis Geospatial Systems subsidiary — to perform a qualification test on the satellite’s capacitor.

The original schedule for initial delivery was in August.
