The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded an 18-month, $138.8 million “bridge contract” to Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) to support DLA’s efforts to deliver spare parts and industrial hardware to U.S. Air Force logistics centers.
Lockheed will provide supply chain management and logistical services in support of maintenance, repair and overhaul operations at the military branch’s air logistics complexes, Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
The company will perform work in Maryland, Georgia, Oklahoma and Utah through Oct. 22, 2017.
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support is the contracting activity and will use fiscal 2016 to fiscal 2018 defense working capital funds for the acquisition initiative.
