Google’s Aaron Weis Named Chairman of Executive Mosaic’s 4×24 CIO Group

Executive Mosaic has selected Aaron Weis, managing director of technology at Google Public Sector and a five-time Wash100 awardee, as chairman of the CIO Group for the 4×24 Executive Leadership Series.

The 4×24 Executive Leadership Program provides a space for government contracting leaders and industry executives to connect and network through a series of dinner events. During 4×24 dinners, members are encouraged to share their ideas in pursuit of solving the U.S. government’s top mission challenges.

Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic, said the company is excited to have Weis back for a second 4×24 season as CIO Group Chair.

“Executive Mosaic has had the pleasure of engaging with Aaron Weis for years, during his time as Navy CIO and also in his current technology leadership role at Google,” Garrettson stated.

“Aaron has distinguished himself in the GovCon industry as a true innovator and a dynamic leader who is up to the challenge of helping to solve the most important and consequential government technology needs,” he added. “We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with Aaron as he returns to chair the CIO Group for a second season.”

In his role as CIO Group Chair, Weis, who joined Google following a three-year tenure as chief information officer at the Department of the Navy, will oversee thoughtful discussions between impactful GovCon CIOs as they consider leveraging IT for critical government missions.

Weis has more than 30 years of experience in IT-related roles. As DON CIO, Weis spearheaded the department’s cybersecurity, information management and data protection efforts. Prior to the DON, Weis served as the senior advisor to the Department of Defense’s CIO.

The former DON CIO’s previous industry roles also include leadership positions at Tyco International, Sensata Technologies, Siemens and Axalta Coating Systems.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Weis on his selection and looks forward to seeing how he influences the 4×24 CIO Group.
