Cerberus Buys Majority Stake in MRO Services Provider M1

Cerberus Capital Management has acquired a controlling interest in M1 Support Services, a Denton, Texas-headquartered provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for military aircraft and aviation programs.

George Krivo, a managing director for Cerberus Operations, will serve as CEO of M1 and co-founders Kathy Hildreth and Bill Shelt will remain investors in M1 and continue to sit on the company’s board of directors, Cerberus said Tuesday.

Krivo, a more than 20-year U.S. Army veteran, previously held senior executive roles at aerospace and defense services companies, including DynCorp International, now part of Amentum; DRS Technologies; and Science Applications International Corp. (Nasdaq: SAIC).

“We look forward to bringing our deep operating and industry experience to help M1 expand and serve critical requirements for the United States and its allies,” said Craig Brooks, a senior managing director at Cerberus.

Established in 2003, M1 offers aircraft maintenance and modification, flight training, logistics support and supply chain management services to government customers.
