Accenture Federal Services Closes Cognosante Buy, Unveils Health Portfolio; John Goodman Quoted

Accenture Federal Services has closed its purchase of Cognosante and launched a federal health portfolio to bring specialized mission platforms and services to customers to help them deliver better health outcomes.

Accenture’s (NYSE: ACN) federal arm said Monday more than 1,500 Cognosante employees will join the company’s workforce as a result of the acquisition.

“The health market is a unique mission space in the U.S. federal government,” said John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services.

“With the addition of Cognosante’s industry-leading people and capabilities, and by continuing to draw upon Accenture’s proven commercial innovation in health, life sciences, and insurance, Accenture Federal Services will accelerate impact for our clients and offer greater career growth opportunities for our people as a result of this acquisition,” added Goodman, a 2024 Wash100 awardee.

The transaction was completed a month after Accenture Federal Services agreed to acquire federal health technology company Cognosante.

Falls Church, Virginia-based Cognosante provides cloud migration support, program management and technology platforms for federal health care programs supporting veterans, active-duty personnel, providers and other beneficiaries.
