Chris Fall Joins CRDF Global Board of Directors

Chris Fall, vice president for applied science at Mitre, has been appointed to the board of directors at Arlington, Virginia-headquartered nonprofit cybersecurity organization CRDF Global.

Mike Dignam, CEO of CRDF Global, said in a statement published Monday that Fall’s experience in science, technology and energy domains “brings enormous insight and value to our board” and his technical expertise and insights will help the organization build its global security and development offerings.

Fall oversees Mitre’s emerging technology research and development efforts and leads five Mitre Labs innovation centers for acquisition; economics; enterprise strategy; life, physical, and health sciences; and transportation.

He joined the research organization in 2021 after serving as director of the Department of Energy’s Office of Science where he oversaw the majority of the DOE’s national laboratories and supported R&D investments in artificial intelligence and quantum science.

Before that, Fall served as acting director of DOE’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy. He served for more than seven years at the Office of Naval Research, taking on senior management roles such as acting chief scientist and lead for the research directorate.
