PreVeil’s Sanjeev Verma on Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information for CMMC, DFARS Compliance

Sanjeev Verma, founder and chairman of PreVeil, said defense contractors seeking to protect sensitive controlled unclassified information while ensuring compliance with the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement should adopt tools like an end-to-end encrypted email and file-sharing system.

According to Verma, encrypted email and file-sharing tools like the one from PreVeil can be deployed easily and works to safeguard CUI using zero trust, which he said depends on end-to-end encryption.

“PreVeil’s system also foils attackers by requiring authorization from multiple administrators to decrypt information and by eliminating passwords,” he wrote in an article published on Carahsoft.com.

The PreVeil founder discussed how the company’s platform works to help contractors provide the necessary documentation to simplify the compliance process.

“Companies that use PreVeil not only raise their Supplier Performance Risk System scores with DOD but also provide documented evidence of compliance to both government assessors and prime contractors,” he noted.

Verma cited how the company’s offering could assist small and medium defense contractors as they comply with DOD’s security requirements, particularly DFARS and CMMC.
