In-Q-Tel President Steve Bowsher Takes on CEO Role

Steve Bowsher, president of In-Q-Tel, has officially assumed additional responsibilities as CEO of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s venture capital arm.

He succeeds Chris Darby, who went into retirement after more than 17 years of service at IQT, the nonprofit company said Thursday.

Bowsher “possesses deep dedication to innovation and national security and visionary leadership. We believe he will continue to enhance IQT’s work and role in service to the U.S. intelligence and defense communities and allies,” said Michael Crow, chairman of the board of trustees at IQT.

In 2006, Bowsher joined IQT and served as the organization’s managing general partner.

He previously served as a general partner at venture capital firm InterWest Partners and as an executive at E*TRADE.

Bowsher said he looks forward to expanding IQT’s work as the company continues to serve its government partners and deliver technology capabilities in support of the national security mission of the U.S. and its allies.

His appointment as the next CEO of IQT was first announced in June.
