Northrop to Expand ABL Naval Industrial Reserve Ordnance Plant Under $178M Contract

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has secured a potential three-year, $178 million contract from the U.S. Navy to expand the Naval Industrial Reserve Ordnance Plant at the Allegany Ballistic Laboratory in West Virginia.

Work on the firm-fixed-price undefinitized contract action will occur in Rocket Center, West Virginia, through September 2026, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Naval Sea Systems Command is obligating $65.3 million in weapon procurement funds for fiscal year 2023.

ABL is a contractor-operated, government-owned facility that houses the development and production of rocket motors, warheads, munitions, composites, metals, propellants and electronics systems. In 2016, ABL expanded with the construction of a large tactical motor manufacturing facility.
