Navy Awards $112M Dry Dock Construction Contract to Cianbro

The U.S. Navy has selected Pittsfield, Maine-based construction company Cianbro to perform design-bid-build work at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia under a $112.5 million fixed-price-award-fee contract.

Cianbro will construct a new Dry Dock 4 Refueling Complex as part of the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The initiative is aimed at integrating all infrastructure and industrial plant equipment investments at four public shipyards to meet requirements for naval nuclear fleet maintenance.

Cianbro will work in Portsmouth, Virginia, until December 2025. The contractor is obligated the full contract amount using the Fiscal 2023 Capital Investment Program, other procurement, Navy contract funds.
