SES Space & Defense Books $238M DISA Low-Latency, High-Throughput Satcom Services BPA

The government arm of global satellite operator SES has secured a potential five-year, $238.1 million blanket purchase agreement from the Defense Information Systems Agency to provide low-latency, high-throughput satellite communications services for U.S. government users.

SES Space & Defense will provide high-throughput, low-latency connectivity to deliver broadband internet, video and voice services to U.S. government gateways through its O3b satellite constellation in medium-Earth orbit, according to an award notice published Friday.

The single-award BPA has a one-year base period and four option years. The base term is set to kick off on Sept. 1 and run through the end of August 2024.

Through the BPA, government users can lease bandwidth and managed services on low-latency HTS, teleport services and terrestrial connectivity.

In December, SES Government Solutions rebranded as SES Space and Defense following its acquisition of DRS Global Enterprise Solutions from Leonardo DRS.
