Rahul Thakkar Appointed President at BAE Subsidiary Bohemia Interactive Simulations

Rahul Thakkar, a former Amazon Web Services managing director, has been named president of BAE Systems‘ Bohemia Interactive Simulations subsidiary.

Thakkar will oversee the day-to-day operations of the military training and simulation software developer and explore potential market opportunities for the business, BISim said Tuesday.

He previously managed cloud-based simulation and geospatial services during his two-year stint at AWS.

From 2015 to 2020, Thakkar held executive roles at Boeing (NYSE: BA) with a focus on infrastructure transformation, information technology and digital analytics and commercial cloud-based products.

The University of Mumbai graduate and Academy Award for Technical Achievement winner joins BISim more than one year after BAE acquired the software business.

BAE Seeks to Further Military Training Support With Bohemia Interactive Simulations Purchase

BAE Systems has agreed to acquire Bohemia Interactive Simulations for an undisclosed amount in a move to expand training products and services for the defense sector.
