Navy CIO Aaron Weis Receives 4th Wash100 Award During Meeting With Jim Garrettson

Aaron Weis, chief information officer of the Department of the Navy, was recently presented with his 2023 Wash100 Award.

During a meeting with Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the widely renowned recognition, Weis was given his well-deserved fourth Wash100 Award in honor of his continued leadership as a champion of digital modernization and information superiority.

A Wash100 win represents not only the past triumphs of these distinguished executives, but their anticipated future accomplishments as trailblazers within the expansive government contracting industry. 

Since Weis’ induction into the 2023 Wash100 class, the Navy has issued a multitude of contracts to further the service branch’s Information Superiority Vision. The strategy was spearheaded by Weis, who has spoken extensively about the importance of improving the Navy’s information technology systems.

In February, the Navy awarded General Dynamics Information Technology a contract to provide electromagnetic environmental effects services to bolster the service branch’s command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

The Navy also issued a contract to Tetrad Digital Integrity to conduct Navy Authorizing Official risk management framework cybersecurity support services for the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet.
