Navarro to Extend NASA Environmental Program Support With $80M Follow-On Award

Navarro Research and Engineering has received a five-year, $80 million contract to continue support for environmental compliance and operations at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The company will help the agency manage programs to restore the ecosystem around the facility, comply with relevant policies and maintain sustainability measures as part of the ECO3 program, NASA said Thursday.

NASA’s Johnson Space Center manages the White Sands site, where government personnel test potentially hazardous materials, space flight components and rocket propulsion systems.

Navarro secured the first iteration of the ECO contract in March 2013 to help the facility conduct remediation activities, groundwater treatment and solid waste management.

Five years later, the Oak Ridge, Tennessee-headquartered company was awarded a follow-on contract that is scheduled to expire May 31.
