NSA Reissues Multibillion-Dollar Cloud Contract Award to AWS

The National Security Agency has decided to re-award a potential 10-year, $10 billion cloud computing contract to Amazon Web Services after a reevaluation of bid submissions based on the best value sourcing method, Federal News Network reported Tuesday.

AWS originally won the single-award “WildandStormy” contract in July 2021 following a two-phase competition process as part of NSA’s Hybrid Compute Initiative.

In October, the Government Accountability Office asked the agency to reassess proposals from both AWS and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), which challenged the initial award decision.

Federal News Network cited sources that say Microsoft did not file a protest against the reissuance of the award to its competitor.
