Criterion to Update IT Systems for US Forest Service’s Fire Management Branch; Promod Sharma Quoted

Criterion Systems has won a $40 million task order to help the U.S. Forest Service modernize information technology systems and applications that support the interagency fire community mission.

The company said Tuesday it will perform work for the agency’s Fire and Aviation Management-IT branch across nine capability areas under the Technical Delivery and Management Support Service task order.

Efforts will involve software development, cloud migration, life cycle management, emerging technology, data and geographic information system services.

Promod Sharma, president and CEO of Criterion, said the company has a team of Scaled Agile Framework certification holders who can assist the Fire and Aviation Management Information Management office in adopting cloud and weather management platforms.

USFS awarded the project under the Department of Agriculture’s $450 million Information Technology Support Services contract vehicle.
