“First and foremost, we have an established growth strategy that we call ‘people first,’” said Smith during her session. “That’s what Parsons is about in the federal market. It’s our culture. I think we’re different, but it is all about the people. Employee engagement is what makes our company in this market and I’m here to support them, not the other way around.”

With 700 strong in attendance on Wednesday and hundreds more watching Baird’s conference virtually, Smith also discussed Parsons’ specific growth objectives and strategies as well as the current administration’s push to improve critical infrastructures, the future capabilities of warfare and how they’re influencing our technology advancement and the key areas of focus for Parsons.

“We’re going to continue to focus on the same areas. I always emphasize the word focus,” Smith explained. “We are in a lot of different markets and it’s really about picking the markets that are the high growth profitable, and where we can be differentiated.

That goes back to where we plan to be in cyberspace, missile, defense, and C5ISR on the federal side. And on the critical infrastructure side, it will be transportation, environmental remediation, water, wastewater, and smart mobility. You can expect a lot of M&A activity from Parsons too as well as significant strides in our internal research and development efforts.”

Baird’s Government & Defense Conference provides a forum for discussion on key industry trends and market outlook, as well as networking with industry executives, government officials, and capital providers.

The event was available for in-person attendance and was also offered virtually for top executives to have access to the impressive presentations & fireside chats, industry panels, and networking opportunities.
