Lockheed Books Potential $936M Contract for F-35 Equipment, Integrated Support Services

The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) a potential $935.5M contract to provide contractor assistance and related equipment such as information systems for F-35 Lightning II aircraft to support domestic and international customers.

The contract includes line items valued at $895.5M and $40M that cover support equipment, training platforms, logistics system components, site activation assistance and other integrated F-35 support services, the Department of Defense said Friday.

According to the DoD notice, contract work will support efforts to improve the availability, reliability and maintainability of F-35 fighter jets intended for missions under the U.S. Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy as well as non-DoD and foreign military sales clients.

Naval Air Systems Command will obligate $205.7M in fiscal year 2020 Navy aircraft procurement, $153.8M in FY 2020 Air Force aircraft procurement, $279.7M in non-DoD participant and $62.5M in FMS funds at the time of award.

Seventy-six percent of contract work will take place in Orlando, Fla., and the remaining 24 percent in Texas, California, New York and the U.K. 

The Pentagon expects Lockheed to conclude its services by March 2026.
