TYSONS CORNER, VA, December 11, 2018 — Amazon Web Services is set to jointly host a “hackathon” with Eastern Foundry as part of a Small Business Administration project to address disaster response issues and increase access to research grants in support of small businesses, ExecutiveBiz reported Nov. 26.

Fedscoop reported Nov. 21 that the activity, which will be held in Virginia from Dec. 15 to 16, will feature those two challenges although Eastern Foundry Co-Founder Geoff Orazem noted participants may see more advanced efforts toward the transparency and accessibility of the Small Business Innovation Research grant program.

“The event is a great way to foster innovation within the small business community and allow our region’s top tech talent to showcase new ideas,” added Dave Levy, vice president of AWS’ U.S. federal government business and a 2018 Wash100 awardee.
