Tim Freeman Named Leidos Defense Business Dev’t SVP; Roy Stevens Quoted

Tim Freeman, formerly an executive at Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) and a 27-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, has joined Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) as senior vice president of business development and strategy for the Reston, Va.-based contractor’s defense group.

He will oversee the unit’s business capture, financial strategies and strategic development efforts in his new role, Leidos said Tuesday.

“Tim’s extensive military background and track record of driving growth and capture strategies will accentuate our customer relationships as we continue to expand our capabilities and markets, said Roy Stevens, executive VP and chief of business development and strategy at Leidos.

Freeman spent more than six years at Raytheon, where his more recent role was director of business development for mission support and modernization.

He commanded multiple Air Force units at the squadron, group and wing levels, as well as served as deputy program executive officer for space launch and military assistant to the service branch’s acquisition chief.
