Boeing Ventures Arm Invests in BridgeSat for Space-Based Optical Comms Effort


TYSONS CORNER, VA, September 11, 2018 — Boeing‘s (NYSE: BA) investment arm is backing Denver-based BridgeSat in the startup’s effort to develop an optical ground station network that supports space-based connectivity, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The aerospace company said Monday its HorizonX Ventures unit led a Series B funding round for BridgeSat and will provide the latter access to Boeing experts and resources as it works to deploy a network for optical communications between spacecraft, high-altitude aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.
