Matt Desch

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 10, 2018 — Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) CEO Matt Desch has said the Aireon system payload on the Iridium NEXT satellites is aimed to enable airlines to fly more direct routes as air traffic control is anticipated to cover the entire planet, ExecutiveBiz reported Dec. 27.

He told CNBC in a report published Dec. 22 the capability to view aircraft position anywhere on Earth will work to reduce the time and cost of air travel.
