Canada Sends Procurement Request for Interim Fleet of Boeing-Built F-18 Fighters

TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 17, 2017 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) could soon supply Canada with 18 F-18 Super Hornet aircraft if the U.S. government approves a request for the procurement of the jets as an interim Canadian fighter fleet, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The government of Canada said Tuesday the requested F-18s will supplement its existing fleet of legacy CF-18s while the country works to arrange an open competition to identify the replacement fighter aircraft.
