Army Taps Harris for $1.7B Radio FMS Contract With Afghanistan

HARRISHarris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has been awarded a potential five-year, $1.7 billion contract by the U.S. Army to produce military radio systems, ancillaries and spare parts for Afghanistan under a foreign military sales agreement.

The Defense Department said Thursday that work location will depend on individual orders and the company is scheduled to finish work by June 15, 2021.

The Army received one bid for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via the Internet.

Harris will also provide single-channel ground and airborne radio systems to Morocco under a potential $405 million foreign military sales contract the Army awarded last month.
