Lockheed-Built Missiles With 3D-Printed Components Complete Navy Test Flights

lockheed martinTYSONS CORNER, VA, March 22, 2016 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has used 3D-printed connector backshells on its Trident II D5 fleet ballistic missiles to help drive an efficient manufacturing process, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The company said Friday Trident II missiles with the 3D-printed components completed a U.S. Navy test flight as part of the Trident Strategic Weapon System follow-on evaluation.
