TYSONS CORNER, VA, February 4, 2016 The Boeing-built (NYSE: BA) Space Launch System will carry the Orion unmanned spacecraft and 13 CubeSats to deep space in 2018, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
NASAsaid Wednesday two of the CubeSats that will be onboard the SLS are the Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) Skyfire and Morehead State University’s Lunar IceCube.
“The 13 CubeSats that will fly to deep space as secondary payloads aboard SLS on [Exploration Mission-1] showcase the intersection of science and technology, and advance our journey to Mars, ” said Dava Newman, NASA’s deputy administrator.
