Zain Ahmed, formerly a senior director of CenturyLink(NYSE: CTL), has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the company’s federal civilian and law enforcement practice.
CenturyLink said Monday the 15-year telecommunications industry veteran will oversee the delivery of network, cybersecurity, cloud computing and information technology support services to government customers.
He brings a wealth of technical knowledge and understanding of the federal marketplace that enable him to skillfully help agencies achieve their IT modernization goals,” said David Young, senior VP of strategic government at CenturyLink.
Ahmed joined the company in late 2017 upon its acquisition of Level 3 Communications.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from University of Maryland and an MBA degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
