In a LinkedIn post announcing the move, the defense and national security company said Walsh brings over 25 years of experience in IT management with expertise in cloud computing, network security, data center management and disaster recovery to the CIO role.
According to Xcelerate, the newly appointed CIO will drive innovation, evolve the company’s technology landscape and advance the delivery of new tech platforms to customers.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Walsh most recently served as chief technology officer at cybersecurity firm VMD, where he helped shape the company’s technology ecosystem and played a role in delivering mission-critical work and platforms to customers.
In early February, Xcelerate announced its merger with Fairfax, Virginia-based VMD as part of a push to offer an expanded portfolio of secure platforms and services to federal government customers.
Before VMD, Walsh founded Advanced IT Services and served as a senior systems architect at Catapult Technology.
