John Cuomo, former vice president and general manager of Boeings (NYSE: BA) distribution services unit, has been elected as president, CEO and a member of the board of directors at Alexandria. Va.-based VSE (Nasdaq: VSEC).
His appointment is effective April 15 and he will succeed Maurice Gauthier, who will step down next month after 11 years at the helm, VSE said Tuesday.
Gauthier has led the Alexandria, Va.-based company since April 2008 and has been credited with implementing the firm’s diversification, strategic acquisition and market expansion efforts.
Cuomo, a more than 18-year aerospace distribution and services veteran, previously served as general manager of the aerospace solutions group at KLX, which Boeing acquired last year. He held a 19-year career at KLX’s former parent company B/E Aerospace
