The company said the five-year award is part of the Transportation Security Administration’s Screening Partnership Program.
Operating MCI’s 16 screening lanes, VMD has been providing the siad airport services in the last four years. Safety-focused efforts cover identifying dangerous object and preventing them from being transported. The company also supports special flights out of MCI.
“Through dedication and hard work, our team has ensured the safety of millions of passengers departing from MCI since 2020 and will support many more travelers as the airport continues to grow year over year,” said VMD President Vivek Malhotra. “As a mission-first company, we are focused on continually enhancing overall MCI security effectiveness by leveraging our years of experience in Kansas City and at our 10 other SPP partner airports.”
In 2023, VMD provided coordinated training and operational planning to help MCI transition to the new terminal.
