Fort Bliss Special Operations Recruitment Battalion hosted a fitness and team-building competition in honor of fallen hero – Green Beret, and El Paso native – Staff Sgt. Joshua Mills. Staff Sgt. Mills died, Sep. 16, 2009, after his vehicle struck an IED while conducting a mounted patrol in support of combat operations in Ghur Ghuri, Afghanistan. He was serving with Company A, 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Operations Group (Airborne), while assigned to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force Afghanistan. For the Inaugural Staff Sgt.
