V2X Secures $252M Air Force Contract for Iraq F-16 Base Support

The U.S. Air Force has awarded V2X, an aerospace and defense company formed through the merger of Vectrus and Vertex in 2022, a $252.1 million contract to provide base support services for Iraq’s F-16 program.

What Are the Details of V2X’s Iraq F-16 Base Support Contract?

The Department of Defense said Friday the cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite contract covers base operating support, life support and security functions at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base. The award, issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, was a sole-source acquisition. The effort is funded through foreign military sales to Iraq, with $124 million obligated at the time of award. The contract is expected to run through Sept. 24, 2026.

What Contract Preceded the $252M Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base Support Award?

In June, Virginia-based V2X secured an undefinitized contract to provide support services at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base under Iraq’s F-16 program. The award was initially valued at $118 million and was expected to be completed over a five-year period.
