Ultra Defense Corp. has wrapped up its purchase of ammunition supplier MAST Technology for an undisclosed sum in a move to add defense system manufacturing capabilities.
UDC said Thursday it seeks to expand its footprint in the U.S. and international defense markets through the UDC-MAST division, which will focus on producing small-caliber ammunition and 40mm munitions as well as pyrotechnics like M81 igniters.
Former MAST CEO Jay Bell will serve as the general manager of the new unit that will headquartered in Warrensburg, Mo.
Matthew Herring, CEO of UDC, said the company made the acquisition to build up its position as a military supplier and help customers address the National Defense Strategy.
Tampa, Fla.-based UDC offers defense weaponry, aeronautics platforms, training services and other logistics, maintenance and supply-chain support.
