Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has appointed Ulrich Finkenbusch to head the company’s operations in Germany.
Finkenbusch returns to Germany more than one year after a stint with Lockheed’s international business development team in the U.S., the company said Wednesday.
He served as a principal foreign policy adviser for Germany’s Bundestag and focused on foreign and national security issues in the country and the European Union before his appointment to Lockheed in May 2014.
œLockheed Martin™s goal is to build a true partnership with Germany, not simply to win contracts and transact business, Finkenbusch said.
“In my new role I am looking forward to strengthening this partnership and expanding our links with companies like MBDA Deutschland, Airbus and Diehl to help Germany meet its evolving mission needs, ” he added.
Lockheed’s Germany business is based in Berlin and will also include activities of the company’s Sikorsky helicopter manufacturing unit.
The company has proposed its CH-53K King Stallion helicopter to Germany for a potential selection and that country has flown CH-53 Sea Stallions since 1971.
