BAE Systems is the principal contractor for the potential $104 million foreign military sale of M777 howitzer support services and related equipment, while the principal contractor for the proposed $99.5 million sale of transportation and consolidation services will be determined from approved vendors, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday.

Both approved FMS requests are expected to improve Ukraine’s capability to conduct self-defense and regional security missions and address current and future threats. The proposed sales will also support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States. The DSCA described Ukraine as a “force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.”
