President Donald Trump on Friday signed into law the fiscal year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act, which authorizes the creation of the œSpace Force as the sixth military branch.
A White House news release published Friday says the potential $738B NDAA includes a 12-week parental leave for federal civilian employees, pay increase for service personnel, FY 2020 appropriations for the Pentagon™s national security programs and equipment modernization for service branches.
The law also directs the director of national intelligence to form a supply chain and counterintelligence task force; sets a deadline on the nomination of a member to the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board; and authorizes the appointment of a senior technical authority for each naval vessel class.
The Senate on Tuesday voted 86-8 to pass the defense policy bill.
