Engineering and construction management services provider TRC Companies has agreed to buy a Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) business unit that provides energy services to gas and electric utilities.
Lockheed said Wednesday the sale of its distributed energy solutions group comes as the company’s energy line of business intends to focus efforts on the larger energy and defense markets.
DES offerings include resource management, integration, cybersecurity assistance and cloud support.
TRC is headquartered in Lowell, Mass., and specializes in technology-based services for the power, oil and gas, environmental and infrastructure segments. The company has offices in Canada, U.K. and China.
