Tommy Reed Named Frontgrade Chief Growth Officer

Tommy Reed, a 20-year veteran of the aerospace and defense industry, shared on LinkedIn Wednesday that he has been promoted to chief growth officer at Frontgrade Technologies.

The new CGO brings extensive leadership experience in strategy development, innovation management and aerospace defense.

Tommy Reed’s Career Highlights

Reed most recently served as vice president of strategy and investments, where he oversaw Frontgrade’s investment strategy and worked closely with the chief technology officer in developing the aerospace and defense hardware company’s research and development portfolio. He initially worked as the senior director of strategy and integrated solutions.

Before joining Frontgrade, Reed spent over three years at L3Harris Technologies. He was the director of the microelectronics business area, director of strategy for space and senior principal for technology strategy.

The Frontgrade executive served as director of the board at Peak Nano, where he was responsible for strategic planning, technology development and commercialization. Reed was the CTO of Bliley Technologies for over three years, spearheading its technology strategy and market growth.

Reed initially worked at Harris from 2008 to 2016 before he rejoined L3Harris in 2019. He last served as the head of R&D, where he managed over 75 projects under the company’s R&D portfolio. Other roles he held include innovation manager, business process analyst and various engineer positions.
