Todd West to Assume VP Role at HII Newport News Shipbuilding

Todd West, program director for USS George Washington at Huntington Ingalls Industries' (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division, has been promoted to vice president of in-service aircraft carrier programs within the same unit, effective Nov. 1

He will replace Chris Miner, who is due to retire from the company on Dec. 1 after a more than 37-year career, and will report to Matt Needy, VP of Navy programs at Newport News Shipbuilding, HII said Tuesday.

West will oversee aircraft carrier refueling, overhaul and fleet support activities, as well as industrial subcontract work at the New York-based Kenneth A. Kesselring facility for naval nuclear propulsion research and development.

The 35-year shipbuilding veteran began his career as an engineer and his industry experience has included both construction and engineering leadership positions.
