Todd Ernst, vice president of investor relations at Raytheon (NYSE: RTN), has been promoted to VP of corporate development in a move that takes effect Nov. 6.
He will oversee Raytheon’s mergers-and-acquisitions program in addition to his current responsibilities and succeed Michael Cody, who will retire as corporate development lead after an eight-year tenure, the company said Thursday.
Ernst will also continue to report to Chief Financial Officer Toby O’Brien.
He joined the Waltham, Massachusetts-based defense contractor in January 2010 as director of competitive assessment for corporate strategy and was appointed as the company’s investor relations head 10 months later.
Before Raytheon, he worked for Balyasny Asset Management and Neuberger Berman as senior equity analyst focused on the aerospace and defense sectors.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from DePauw University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
