Thomas Lydon Named Aviation Solutions Division President at VT Group

Thomas Lydon, formerly a senior vice president at Sabre Systems, has joined Chantilly, Va.-based technology integrator VT Group as president of the newly established aviation solutions division.

He will oversee the combined business of VT Group™s global aviation services and the logistics and engineering capabilities of the newly acquired National Technologies Associates, the company said Monday.

VT™s aviation solutions division will provide research, development, test and evaluation support, maintenance, mission-critical operations and sustainment services for tiltrotor, fixed, unmanned and rotary-wing aircraft.

He served as an E-2C radar operator for carrier airborne early warning squadron 126 within the U.S. Navy and held senior leadership roles at General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), Vistronix, Veridian and Northrop Grumman™s (NYSE: NOC) predecessor, Grumman Aerospace.

Lydon currently sits on the board of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.

VT Group operates in over 80 locations worldwide and delivers command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms, technology engineering support and information systems to government and commercial clients in national security and defense markets.
