The Bridge on October 22th - Dealing with Rising Seas – Politics and Policy of Climate Change

On October 22nd at 11 am on WJLA; and 6PM on News Channel 8 Host of The Bridge Jim McCarthy “ is joined by Ann Phillips, Rear Admiral (Vice Commander), U.S. Navy (Ret.) and Dale Morris, Senior Economist, Embassy of the Netherlands – for a discussion about planning for and managing rising sea levels.

Whatever side of the fence you’re on about climate change, the issue of rising seas is a situation that needs to be addressed before the structural integrity of our port cities are in jeopardy.

While communications with the Netherlands have been fruitful in identifying best practices for flood and sea level control, it™s integration into our coastal cities has been cumbersome and even fraught with disconnects between various government bureaucracies.

McCarthy seeks to learn more about the obstacles, and what steps should be taken to best prepare ourselves for the ever-present threat.
