Raja Koduri, formerly senior vice president and chief architect of AMD‘s (Nasdaq: AMD) Radeon Technologies subsidiary, will join Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) in December as chief architect.
He will also serve as senior vice president of Intel’s newly established core and visual computing group and general manager of a project that aims to drive edge computing technology, the company said Wednesday.
Koduri has 25 years of experience in visual and accelerated computing across a range of technology platforms that include PCs, game consoles, professional workstations and consumer devices.
In his previous role, he oversaw all aspects of graphics technologies used in AMD’s accelerated processing unit, discrete graphics processing unit, semi-custom and GPU compute products.
He also worked at Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) as director of graphics architecture, where he supported the development of a graphics sub-system for the Mac product line and led the move to Retina computer displays.
