State Dept Clears $4.5B in Aircraft, Stryker Vehicle Purchase Requests From Four US Allies

The State Department has approved approximately $4.5B in foreign military sales agreements with France, Lithuania, Argentina and Indonesia.

France requested to purchase three Northrop Grumman-built (NYSE: NOC) E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft, engines, radar assemblies and related equipment from the U.S. government under a potential $2B FMS deal to help expand its naval aviation capabilities, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.

Indonesia will buy eight MV-22 Block C Osprey aircraft, radars, navigation systems, machine guns, spares and related equipment and support services through a potential $2B contract to improve its disaster relief and humanitarian capabilities and amphibious operations. Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Bell Textron will serve as prime contractors in the transaction.

Lithuania asked to procure six Sikorsky-built UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, engines, navigational systems and other equipment and services under a potential $380M FMS deal to boost its capability to provide border security, troop lift, search and rescue, medical evacuation, anti-terrorist and combat support. Sikorsky and General Electric (NYSE: GE) will act as principal contractors in this potential sale.

Argentina will procure 27 units of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) Land Systems-produced M1126 Stryker infantry carrier vehicles, machine guns, vision enhancers and other equipment and support services through a potential $100M deal. The South American country will use the vehicles to carry out stability operations to support international peacekeeping and disaster relief efforts.

DSCA said it notified Congress of the deals Monday.
